A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Harriet Hampton-Fields MPT, Bsc graduated from Warrensville Heights High School in 1995. She accepted a volleyball scholarship to Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then attended Cleveland State University, where she completed the Master of Physical Therapy program. She has worked as a licensed physical therapist in a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, special needs schools, outpatient facilities, and homecare. She is the owner/director of Within Your Reach Therapies and Consulting which provides occupational and physical therapy services in homecare and outpatient therapy settings.

She has also been an assistant coach at Academy Volleyball Cleveland for the past three years and she enjoys shopping, traveling, watching movies, fine dining, and spending time with her two daughters, Xavia and Alaiyah.
