Physical Therapy

Physical therapists objective is to teach patients how to prevent or manage their condition so that they will achieve long-term health benefits. Therapists evaluate each individual and develop a plan, using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. In addition, PTs work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.

Physical Therapy is defined as the treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by physical methods such as massage, heat treatment, and exercise rather than by drugs or surgery. A branch of rehabilitative health that uses specially designed exercises and equipment to help patients regain or improve their physical abilities. Physical Therapy is used to treat a wide variety of patients from infants born with musculoskeletal birth defects, to adults suffering injury, to elderly post-stroke patients.
